Only on holidays or when the semester ends ha

i got in to UP, found out weeks ago.
2010 (all 3); 1320 (just the 2)
98.24 GPA

I live in a suburb outside Philly and it takes me like 3 hours to get to UP.

Collegekid5- My daughter has 4.3 and 1240 SAT. Good luck to you. I hope you hear soon.

My son found out this morning he was accepted to Altoona. We haven't seen it yet, but I doubt he'll consider it. He was really hoping for UP and also put down summer. I guess we'll wait to see what else comes in.

Way2bizEnow,
What were his stats????

i have a 1580 sats and 4.013 gpa what do you think my chances are of getting into main?

1580/2400 or 1600? either way very good

way2bizenow, did your son have good grades or was UP somewhat a reach?

hey for those of us who are borderline or in the middle 50% ranges..here's some good news that i read on the website!!

"Penn State typically begins releasing decisions in November. Most often, these are students who have requested a campus other than University Park as a first-choice. Other students receiving decisions at this time might include those for whom we cannot offer the first-choice campus, but to whom we can suggest alternative campuses."

confirmation that no news is good news!!

^Thats good to hear haha.
Taking my SAT's this saturday, I've been prepping for 2 months. Hopefully I score 1750+

If you look back at last year's acceptance thread, it seems that many border line students did not get word until January. Almost everyone who got summer session seems to have heard later. So, at this point, I would definitely agree with mkc2100 that no news is good news!

Yeah I was looking back at that thread and it actually kind of scared me because a few people were denied with great stats....

How do u look back. Can u post the link?

after looking again I guess its hard to tell if the few rejections were legit or not...

I am so nervous. I really hope I get in UP Stats are 1150 out of (1600) SAT lots of Ap's 3.79 GPA and what I hope helps me - Dad went there and sister currently does.

i'm nervous because now i think about it, i probably shouldn't have put down altoona as my second choice. when i did the app i didnt put a second choice at first, but then it refreshed the page and recommended i put the second choice so i just put altoona. however, i have absolutely no interest in it. if i don't get into UP, i'm not going. and i've heard that you shouldn't put down a branch because they'll try to stick you there. and seeing as i'm borderline...
i applied summer but still.
i'm having second thoughts. should i email admissions and say that i would like to take the second choice off my app? or just leave it

I don't think you should e-mail them. I think that Penn State will first review you for University Park.

I didn't put a second choice because I honestly have no desire to go to any other campus...I didn't apply to summer either...do you think my chances would increase if i switched my major to DUS? 3.494 GPA 30 ACT
