Any Acceptances Yet??

i emailed them about reconsideration since i saw blckthought did and got in, also asking about waitlisted. i wish i had the number for their admissions office.

UGH, my friend just got in & she def applied WAYY after me.
Geez, I do NOT understand PSU's admissions process!

DU50MH, there's a number for the admissions office on the website

814-865-5471

PSUalum--

17 (including me) seniors applied from my school.
OOS, Nothern VA, large public high school, very competitive.

14 applied before the Nov 30th deadline
7 have been accepted to UP
4 accepted to branch (3 Altoona, 1 Mont Alto? I think that's what it's called..)

I only know two of the stats of two girls accepted to UP
Girl 1 had a 3.8 UW/4.2 W GPA with a 33 ACT score.
Girl 2 had a 3.4 UW/3.8 W GPA with 1920/2400 SAT
---Pretty sure the 5 others are all in the Top 10% of the class..

The kids accepted to Altoona all had GPA's lower than a 3.3 W, not sure about test scores
And the girl accepted to Mont Alto had a 35 ACT but a 2.7 W GPA

congrats to all those accepted!
i'm still waiting, unfortunately. :(
but this is the last week. kind of nerve-racking/exciting/terrifying! wish me luck ^_^

Accepted!!
Gpa: 90
sat: 1920

"rawinput, i'm really suprised you didn't get in fall. but congrats anyway!" ~mkc2100

mkc2100, with those stats , she most likely chose summer...i have same SAT at a 1980 (1310) and a 4.27 weighted and I want summer session, as I'd like to get a head start!

Those of you who have heard recently, did you first find out via the web page or snail mail?

for those of you who got sent to different branch or accepted to summer only, what did it say on your psu account?

jarad, i agree. i applied summer because not only do i doubt i'd ever be accepted into fall but i also think it's a great way to get acclimated on such a large campus before it fills up with sooo many people. everyone who does it loves it. so hopefully i can get in summer :/

yea definately mkc... i hope i see you there! good luck

I found out Friday...i was sick that day and woke up goofed around and checked the mail and sure enough a big white envelope was in the mailbox!! shortly after i looked online and it was the same thing so i think they update it the same day they guess you'll receive the letter

they do try for that, but it doesnt always work because of snail mail, but good for you, as you got the full effect of being barraged with congratulations! i hope its the same with me lol!!

i wont be answering anymore questions, i was hoping every1 would cooperate and follow my instructions but there are too many people asking simple questions flooding my inbox like:
what did you say? (its all about persuasion, you have to use your own techniques.)
whats the admissions office #?
i havent been deferred or rejected yet but can you help me? (hate this one the most)

So sorry to those who could actually follow my instructions instead of pestering me. If you have to ask the questions (similar to those above), we can actually see why you didnt get into PSU UP.

Accepted fall 2009 psu UP !

blckthought, it is your fault that your are being flooded with messages. You should of not caused the drama about being "re-evaluated" for admission and kept your special situation to yourself and not share it on here to get the hopes up for recent rejectees.

well said cwryan1

cwryan: i didnt care about the flooding messages (i didnt like the flooding of my inbox asking questions like, whats PSU's #?) because i liked helping the people who needed help. (there were some who didnt ask simple questions and just cooperated straight through, kudos to you guys) But there were some when i would help them, they would come back and argue with me when i was just trying to help. the method isnt 100%, it may get you re-evaluated but who knows if your going to really get accepted using my method.

blckthought-- I did some research through your posts. Did you really go from a 1490 to a 1710 on your SAT's? A big congrats on that-- I wish I would have brought my SAT scores up like that; I wouldn't be freaking out now haha. I tried, but just can't seem to do well on the standardized tests :-(
