luckynumber 1000!!!!

coolbeans- very sorry to hear that, it doesn't make any sense to me that you wouldn't get in. i got in with a slightly higher gpa than you, not much though, and slightly lower SATs. a lot of it just seems so random and unfair.

bionic, i don't know for sure but you may hear back in march. you can always check with the admissions office though.

editor...that's great. Like Penn State, Ohio State seems to be one of those schools where everyone has lots of school spirit and really loves it. I know a few people who graduated from Ohio State and were very, very happy there.

Essay
*I will write about a Table. How the table is important to me: In Africa my family and I were in a war and so we hide underneath the table from the bombs. Now, since I am in the USA for many years, don’t know exact number... but anyways, now my parents uses it to talk about bills and how will survive for next day. *

So the essay will be a contrast of the use of a table in two different countries and two different situations.

woe...sobering

I don't know what to say, Race64. You certainly laid yourself bare to the world. I just don't understand why you did it.

I JUST GOT MY ACCEPTANCE ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PENN STATE UNIVERSITY PARK, COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS, FALL 2009!!!!!!!!!!!! MY GPA IS A 3.5, AND I HAVE A 1340 ON MY SAT'S....ALTOGETHER. YOU DON'T NEED HIGH SAT'S TO GET INTO YOUR DREAM COLLEGE! YOU NEED FAITH! I AM MR. PENN STATE UNIVERSITY PARK!! (Sorry for the caps, I'm just too excited!)

CONGRATULATIONS KJSnr2009! Great to see the enthusiasm. Enjoy it for days!

race64, i really hate to post my opinions on a forum like this, but your post just pushed my buttons enough that i have to.
FIRST of all, do you see anybody else posting this extensive information that you posted in this thread? no. apparently you feel the need to push your ethnicity to everyone else on this board. sure, you might be proud of your heritage, but it's completely irrelevant to the rest of us. did you see me posting my ethnicity anywhere? no.
you're in erase - erase racism on earth?
you contradict yourself, you're the reason for the racism. you don't see white kids going around parading WOOOO WE'RE WHITE AND EVERYONE ELSE IS KEEPING US DOWN! no, because they don't feel the need to express the obvious.
next, you say that it's "NOT NORMAL" for african women to play drums.
i beg to differ. if you're trying to erase racism, you have to erase it out of your own mind. you're being the racist here, not the eraser. african women can do whatever german women can do, be it playing the drums or whatever.
yeah, i'm a white male and my passion is hip hop and rap music. i listen to over a thousand songs a week, and am in love everything that is the essence of hip hop music. you might consider this something that 'white people don't do'. i disagree completely. people can do whatever on earth pleases them no matter what their race may be, obviously as long as it abides the laws set by the government.
i hope you realize your hypocrisy, because it's blatantly and disgustingly obvious. i'm accepting of everybody, every race. i can't stand ignorance.
i'm not trying to offend you, i'm just expressing my views.

congrats to everyone who was accepted to psu main, i'm looking forward to meeting all of you, especially those of you who are doing summer session.
anybody who's considering the business SLO for fall session or the business management pride for summer session, feel free to pm me, it would be fantastic to meet some of you people before it starts!

good call with the business SLO for fall. North is very nice. I will be moving into EARTH house this fall which is right next door.

chyea. i'm excited. what's the EARTH house background? like, what's the deal with it, i haven't heard of it.
&& are you into partying?

EARTH house is the Ag SLO in north. And is that second question a serious one? I do go to Penn State ya know.....

are you guys finding out throught penn state website or an email?

oh, that's true, haha.
i can't wait. only thing is, i'm a good deal younger than the average highschool senior right now, i won't be 18 until october, which means i won't be 21 until i start my senior year of college.
pretty ridiculous.

DS gets in, his 2nd choice, lst choice wont be known til March.
What's the housing opinion? An alumni suggested making the deposit to secure Freshman housing. any opinion? I know non-refundable but $300 won't bankrupt me.

Faytal, we're in the same boat. I JUST turned 17 last month. So, I'll be 18 next January durin' our spring semester. (I was born in 1992, not like the typical 1991-er in 12th grade, lol)

Faytal: I don't think six months younger than most is "a good deal younger." Six YEARS younger would be something. Just saying...

speaking of the business SLO, im considering it for freshman year, but I am hesitant because socially, i have heard north is not all that great for freshman because most freshman live in east...any experience/ suggestions on this?

I disagree. Sure, alot of freshmen live in east, but they are not all just there. The SLOs like to bring in alot of freshmen every year so you will not be alone. Plus, they will put you in a quad in north with 3 other freshmen.

And the east dorms are tiny/cell like/cramped...did I mention they are small? Also, I made the fatal mistake of leaning on the elevator wall the first time I visited, haven't made that mistake again. Some people swear by the freshmen experience in east. If that's it, I am glad I passed on it.
