My son tonight is meeting with the West Coast admissions rep and a current Goucher student before he heads back tmrw to Goucher and with two other recently admitted students. It is a meet and greet.
@Andreq how did the meet and greet go? We’re visiting campus in a few weeks.
Yes, we have a visit coming up too, how’d it go @Andreq?
We are headed down next weekend to tour, looking forward to it.
Unfortunately it was put together so last second literally two days before hand that all it was was the West Coast admissions rep, a current student who just returned from studying abroad in Italy and my son.
@Andreq that’s too bad. My daughter met with the rep at a school visit. Sounds like this wasn’t much more than that.
DD loved her visit to Goucher. She thought the students and faculty were very welcoming, thought the buildings and campus itself were beautiful and just overall had a very positive visit!
I should add too that I enjoyed hearing President Bowen speak. He has some very clear, progressive ideas for what’s best for students at Goucher and seems to be working hard with the faculty to make those changes happen.
My son applied back in November and was admitted as of December. And last week he took the University up on a program that they offer to those students who cannot come out on an official visiting day. So he was put up for two days with a host student in the dorms, so that he could take part in that experience and then the next day he was able to shadow the classes that he would take iin his major. He got a chance to take part in some of the extracurricular activities… And when he came back home to Southern California two days later, He has pretty much decided that this is where he will be attending… He’s only holding out for two more possibilities one that he will hear from by April 1 and a California school that he will hear from this Thursday.
Sounds like it was a great visit for your son! That is terrific.
@mom2adancer It was!
