So i’m picking out my senior year schedule and I need some advice…
Here’s what I’m thinking of doing for my schedule
AP Literature
AP Government and Politics
Calculus???
Genetics
Anatomy??? or ceramics + foods
Honors spanish 4
I’m worried I will be too overwhelmed by my course load. I’m also confused on if it will look bad that I’m not taking 3 AP courses, like I am this year.
You should take the classes you are interested in. Without knowing the types of colleges you are thinking of applying to, it’s difficult to make any guesses. If you are looking at tippy top colleges, generally it’s a good idea to have anywhere from 6-8 AP classes. But so much depends on your grades, test scores, essays, letters of rec, etc… If your school only offers a limited amount of APs, then you are not expected to do all of them. If you are applying to moderately selective colleges, several APs is a good number. It’s important to challenge yourself, but also study what you enjoy studying.
Thanks! If I end up taking the schedule I indicated above, I will have a total of 6 AP courses throughout high school. I’m looking at pretty selective colleges, so I will opt for the tougher courses.
