You should still apply since you are a minority. It will give you a huge boost

you look like a good candidate. with these schools sometimes it will come to luck of the draw.

Thank you very much for your replies, your opinions are very helpful :)

any other advice??

How about JHU, Georgetown, NYU, USC, UCLA, Berkeley? Does anyone know if they offer fin aid to internationals? Help me please, i’m kind of lost.

bump please!

any other advice will be highly appreciated

JHU: Reach
Georgetown: Reach
NYU: Low match (although poor fin aid)
USC: High match
UCLA: Reach
Berkeley: Reach

Thank you very much Catria :).

You look like a truly solid candidate for any of those schools. None of those schools are going to hold your lack of AP against you–if it isn’t available, it isn’t available. Your extracurriculars are great and I really think you have a solid resume.

Thanks a lot GiveMeTheChances!

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good combination of schools to which to send my applications because i’m afraid i won’t be able to apply to all the universities i’ve mentioned due to the expensive application fees. The options so far are the ones on my post plus JHU, Georgetown, NYU, UC’s, Texas A&M, USC,Duke, Amherst, Williams,UIUC, Rochester, BC, BU, Northeastern and American i know they are very competitive that’s why i’m open to other schools, also. Feel free to be harsh and sincere with me, i really need good advice. Thank you very much in advance.

Any ideas? please

Any input will be highly appreciated

You seem like a strong candidate, I dont really understand your GPA scaling though lol :P. Just apply and see how it goes!

Lol, I don’t know i guess it’s like a 3.9-4.0 but it’s pretty good, it was actually the best of the entire highschool :).

Any other opinion?

Bump please

I suggest that you apply ED to one of these schools. As a hispanic applicant, you have a high chance of getting in to at least one, and ED will make sure you get the spot & the $$ from your chosen one. If you don’t get in ED to that school you choose (If this happens, with a solid applicant profile like yours, you probably won’t get rejected, only deferred) apply to your safeties and the other schools you listed & see what happens.

Good luck! Don’t worry, you seem to be a dream applicant for these schools. :)

Thank you very much for your input DesiCollegeGal, I am very concerned about this process because since i can’t afford school here in Peru this is probably my only chance to go to college and i know that getting into the universities that offer need based financial aid to internationals is really really hard, so i am extremely worried. I’ll follow your advice but I have to decide which of these fantastic schools is going to be my first option, i really like Columbia, Stanford and of course Harvard but i know that i’d be very blessed if i get into any school with a full scholarship. I have a question, does anyone know if i will be in disadvantage if i don’t send my SAT Subject test scores to schools that don’t require them? (Stanford for example). Thank you.
