Any advice to boost admission chances?

Pitt has always been my dream school, but my freshman and sophomore year of high school went less than great with a GPA way below the average 3.9. This year, my junior year, has been going alot better I’m in all Honors/AP and my grades are looking up but I fear it’s too late to fix my mistakes in the past two years. Any advice is appreciated.
I want to go into Information Sciences, and it says you either need to spend 2 years in A&S or General Studies. I heard (from my sister) that general studies easier to get into

I think it would help to include a letter, or talk to your regional representatives and explain what might have caused a slow start to high school. I think it is a positive that your grades are trending upwards. Also, have you tested well?? Study or take prep class for ACT or SAT to get that score as high as possible. Good luck.

Hello! I encourage you to continue to push yourself academically, make sure you do your best on the ACT/SAT, and opt for a rigorous senior year curriculum. You can see our full recommendations on our website here: https://oafa.pitt.edu/apply/admissions-process/freshmen/

If it is feasible, visiting campus this summer would also be a great opportunity for you to see Pitt; hear more about the admissions process; and talk to our admissions counselors, current Pitt students, and other campus representatives. We will post dates for summer prospective student open houses in the next few months.

Hope that helps!
