Shortly after I applied to Cornell, I started receiving emails from Cornell's Latin American Studies program (the one to which I applied) for already enrolled students.

Either a computer glitch or a good sign, probably the former.

Has anyone been receiving such emails from Cornell intended for enrolled students?

I don't want to get my hopes up, but after an unlikely waitlist notification received from another school, I am well, kind of desperate!

Let's put it this way: it's not a BAD sign.

I wouldn't email them. You're getting good info whether you're in or not. If you choose another school and still receive the newsletters, then I'd email them to ask for removal from their list.

I'm just looking for any glimmer of hope but also realize that this 'glitch' is not indicative of an acceptance letter.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Don't worry, if I get rejected, you better believe I will request they remove me from their email list. Any emails from Cornell after I'm rejected would be cruel!
