:] Any breakdance advice for me? ?_?

Learn from someone who really knows how to breakdance.

Does anyone enjoy dancing to trance techno music and/or attending raves?

^___^ Thanks for all the helpful advice you guys. =] Learning from someone who really knows how to breakdance is going to be tough. ^^ I'll try to find one. =] I like dancing to Trance and Techno music. x] I heart Final Fantasy musics. xD

What's with all the weird symbols?

Yeah, it gets kind of hard to read the stuff..

It's not hard to read. xD The weird symbols are called anime expressions. xP Just have to get used to it. =]]]]

I swear, If you try that stuff on your own you will kill yourself, espeicaly the 360 or worse, the 720 head spin. Besides, my anime friends tend to be very tall/skinny, and if your like that you will defintely hurt yourself. You need a medium heavy set body or light/ not very tall. Body types are ery important. Since this thread is getting out of hand (why in the world do you need to learn Breakdancing for? It's a totally useless fad...) Here's some advie I can give you, based on my extremely mediorcre skills...

1 Learn the handsteand first. ANd no, I do not mean Headstand. These things are the basics. You need to be able to stand for a least 3-5 seconds. here's a hint? It's all in the monentum/swing. ANd the swing has to be straight

2. Learn the (i forgot what it's calld ) where you go around and around alernating hands. This is the basic skill for coordnation-inovled moves.

3 Flexibility. If you do have this, you need to give up. You can be tll and still breakdance, but you need to be flexible to account for this. If your very, very tall, you gotta be very flexible, if your short then it's still important, but not that much

4 Spilts 2 ways. up/down and horiontal

5 Watch gymnast videos of floor excersizes, partically men's. They have many moves. Do not watch women's. They are based on grace/ dance more and some flips/moves are only acheived by women becuase most men don't hav as good a balence. Same thing goes for strength, watch mens, not womens. www.shanfan.com is a good site.

6 Go to any Capoiera site. They have most basic moves

7 Leanr how to fall correctly. This is the most important of them all

8 You should be able to do a round-off. The higher, the better. To obtain height, your body should twist in the first stage by 3/4 and the hands in the floor position should twist the rest. So, you will land facing backwrds.

9 You need to lift weights. this is the only way to develop muscle groups for specific moves

NOw that i've typed this up, I feel really, realy bad for wasting my time. Breakdancing has no use whatsoever and it's quickly dying out.

LOL I can do number 1...I don't know if I can hold it for 5 seconds or not. I'm pretty flexible and can definitely do number 3 splits..I was a cheerleader ^__^! And I can do roundoffs..I don't know how high though I can go!! I'm kind of weak now =(..

You shouldn't feel bad about typing this..it is very helpful to the beginning breakdancers..and also breakdancing is not just a fad..there will always be someone who will be breakdancing. Yes, breakdancing is becoming more commercialized to the point that the veterans don't even want to pass down their knowledge, but there are people out there who would still breakdance, even if it went out of style. I started breakdancing before "You got Served" came out and before all the hype, and I knew in my heart that I would continue to breakdance, even when the comercial hip-hop industry gets tired of the whole concept of breakdancing. There will always be an underground hip-hop scene, because there will always be people who want to rebel against what is "in" at the moment. If there is an underground hip-hop scene, people who want to dance, but can't afford the lessons (so have to do it by watching and learning from the underground scene), then breakdancing and all other branches of hip-hop dance that has become unpopular will forever live on. I know I won't let breakdancing and other forms of hip-hop dance die off, and I hope that there are other people who still feel the same way.. I know it may seem a little dramatic to a whole lot of people..but breakdancing and various forms of other types of dancing are one of my passions.

capoiera is the best. omigod it rules....

[!smooches!] My x] advice :), for what it's worth xD, is to ^__^ start lifting light weights :]]], practice gymnastic-y moves ;), and maybe buy a video online =P or ask a friend or pro for help =x. [!cuddle * 3!] Anyhow, I'm jealous =x b/c I've wanted to learn for sometime now =}, but have, like usual :((, procrastinated...>> :..).. Good luck :) and let me know =) how it goes!! xD!

^ Haha. :p
