Any chance at all?

Hi I'm a junior this year and I wonder if I have any chance at MIT (should I even apply next year?). My grades are HORRIBLE (only top 18%, maybe slightly higher because our school doesn't do class ranking. Although I do go to a very competitive public high school and my grades this year is a lot better), my SAT's aren't very good either (only in 2100-2200 range). However I am sort of good at math (I qualified for USAMO twice and received many awards in competitions). Should I even apply for MIT next year (did anyone with a similar situation get into MIT)???

I was ranked around there in a huuuge public high school when I applied, though my grades/rank skyrocketed after I was accepted (though after that point, I don't think it made much of a difference). MY SATs were just shy of 2200. So yeah, I was pretty much exactly where you were.

The only thing you know for sure is you have NO chance if you don't apply.

o wow twice?...then you have a great shot i think

yes, you should definitely apply...

Your math team skills are unusually good...
don't worry about your SAT scores...they are fine.

which grades are less than an "A-"?

I think I'm around top 30% at my school, all though we don't rank. My highest SAT combo was 2040. and like Olo said, you don't have a chance if you don't apply.
