I am ending my Jr. Year and here are the stats that I think I will have next fall when applying;

GPA: 3.13
Weighted: 3.7 (about 12 honors, 3 AP)

(Note: my GPA freshman year was about a 2.6, sophomore year about a 3.4 and Jr year about a 3.5. I have taken more credits than needed in almost every subject)

SAT:
Math; 650
Reading; 610
Writing; 630
(Taking the ACT in June)

I'm really involved with my school.

I have been class president for the past 3 years, and was recently elected for a 4th year. I am the first person at my school to be elected all 4 years as class president.

Clubs I'm in:

-Young democrats (Vp jr.year, President Senior year)
-STAND (VP)
-Persian Club
-AIDS peer educating group
-Homecoming/Prom committee
-Track (indoor & out door)
-Student ambassador at graduation (4 years)
-National Honors Society

Outside of school, I have worked at a quiznos for 2 years, and now work for a child abuse clinic. I have also volunteered for a few political campaigns.

I'm from Montgomery County, Maryland. I go to a public school. Montgomery County is supposed to be one of the best public school education systems in the country.

I have a few awards for things such as leadership and academics.

What are my chances?

depends on what your major is

if your major is architecture, visual arts, nursing, health science, communication studies, construction science and management, performing arts, engineering, early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education (social sciences), and professional golf management, landscape architecture, nursng or health sciences, those majors are pretty competitive so I would say 25%

if your major is not one of the above then I would say 50-75% chance

I would say your chance is about 50% due to your low(ish) GPA. Improving your test scores may be able to help you.

what if i major in journalism or political science?

I’d say 50-75% chance

No way to predict chances for college exactly. I had a relative get into Princeton but not Clemson. But your chances are probably pretty good :)

Just do your best and hope for the best! That’s all you really can do!

agree with last couple posts

you have worked hard the last couple years and taken a difficult course load if not Clemson there is some great school out there wikking to take a good student , who got involved and chakllenged thereselve

I think your chances are good. You may get wait listed like my son, but he actually got off the wait list before it was time to send a deposit in to another school…SO WAIT IF YOU ARE WAIT LISTED!
