Hi! I'm curious about my chances for Clemson (also possible scholarship offers?). I'm from Maryland, weighted GPA 4.29, unweighted 3.67, class rank 78/361, top 22%. SAT scores sent in June were 2020 (1360 math and CR), and I got a Provisional Acceptance letter soon after. My ACT (taken in September) was a 35. Mostly Honors/GT classes, 6 APs (Psych, two English, Calc AB, Statistics, Photography), English Language AP test-5. I've had a job for the past two years (manager of an ice cream store), member of my school's volleyball team all four years, and member of the Spanish National Honor Society. My grades haven't gone down since the Provisional letter. I applied to Graphic Communications or Nutrition Science in early November. I also applied to the Honors college. I'm mainly concerned about my class rank, but I was hoping my ACT score might even that out a little bit? Thanks in advance!!

I think you’ve got a good shot especially since you got a provisional acceptance letter. I went to a really good high school (US News top 100) but I was ranked in the 50th percentile and had a 3.1 GPA (3.8 weighted). My ACT score however was 35 and I got into the engineering program. Now Clemson has gotten selective since I was accepted but again you got one of those provisional acceptance letters and your grades haven’t gone down so you should be accepted. I doubt you will get into the honors college though. You normally have to be in the top 5% of your high school class to have a chance. As for scholarships, I would say it’s unlikely too due to your class rank.

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
