snerry, forgive me for not answering, but I have no real idea how they select international applicants. For US applicants, my advice on CC is based on a series in the Washington Post two years ago. There was a ton of detail about the difference between VA and non-VA US applicants, and the thought patterns of the admissions committee. But, we have no published info on internationals.

I do know that there are plenty of international students at UVa. My S's first year suite had a minority of US citizens.

snerry, are your sat scores of Oct. better?
If you can get 200-210, you will be in.
good luck.

well i do hope my Oct scores are better. I think my math might be better but not so sure about the verbal and CR parts.

What is your predicted score?

listen. UVa does not take SAT as horribly seriously as other top notch schools ( i mean look at the range); it definitely recognizes that there is more to a person than scores. If you're SAT improves, GREAT. If it doesn't don't worry too much, you should still apply.

UVA uses a holistic evaluation of your app, which is great. Just make sure that before you send it out, make it as unique and defining as possible.

I don't know anything bout internat'l ppl either. sorry on that.

btw you have a 38% chance of getting in ED and 39% percent chance of getting in RD. as you can see, ED won't necessarily be a great advantage as with other schools like UPENN.

good luck!

CHEERS

OH! and if you get the chance, definitely VISIT! it's absolutely beautiful. I lived in charlottesville for a year. trust me, its one of the most gorgeous places...

yes the most historically significant campus in U.S.

LOL i'd never heard of predicting SAT scores until i came to CC. i have no idea since i haven't ....well, predicted. i find that whenever i say "i did great on it!", the score just disappoints me so i try not to predict.
