any chance I'll be accepted?

I go to a competitive Catholic High School in Delaware.

After the first semester of my senior year, I will have about a 3.65 GPA.
My SATs were not great:
580CR
560M
620WR

I have a lot of community service, extra curriculars (Ice Hockey, Model UN, Student Government, Spirituality Commission, Interact/Rotary Club, National Honor Society, among others).

I believe I had a very strong essay describing my service projects throughout high school and how they affected me. And I'm sure my recs were good.

Thanks in advance!

It’ll be very hard with an 1140, since you are 60 points below the bottom 25% of the accepted students. See if you can squeeze another SAT in there and get it up to a 1200. My brother had higher scores but was wait-listed and then later rejected a few years ago. He did however transfer over, which might be an option for you if it does not end up working out. Good luck!

Agreed…though being from a Catholic school helps. Just the same, the OP should be sending in applications to back up schools to cover his situation…and do it soon. Lots of other schools are rolling admissions or have late application deadlines:

Loyola Maryland, UScranton, LeMoyne University, Loyola-New Orleans (a real gem of a school often off the radar of many students), USF, Creighton, Saint Louis University, Marquette.

Good luck.

I just recently received my first semester senior year grades and got a 4.0. With 2 AP courses, and 3 honors courses. Is there any chance that this will be taken into consideration?

I have considered the schools you have mentioned, but I am really interested in Fordham and being in New York City.

Thanks!

They will absolutely take that into account. Only they know if it is enough.
As others said, apply to backups!

I’m sure it can’t hurt but you should still try to get those SAT scores up to around 1200 for M/V. I think it’ll be a 50/50 with your current scores. I don’t think they’ll flat out reject you - they may wait list you first. And with the current economic conditions and not as many students yielding to their acceptance offers, you might just have a chance. Good luck!

i got in with an 1190 M/V and with the same GPA…you also have more extra curriculars than me so i’d say you have a pretty good shot at getting in!
