I volunteer for my church regularly (3 hours a week), and even went on a serving trip to the Dominican Republic for a week.
I have also taken a community college class, Intro the Public Health Occupations, and have received an A.

Oh I'm also from Illinois. From a suburban public high school. And I'm an Asian girl. (Not that that's going to help.)

dude it’s kinda a crapshoot for even well qualified people… nothing sticks out about you to me and your ACT is decent for yale but not “you definitely have a chance” decent…

for sure you should apply cause if you dont apply you wont have any chance of getting in…

I would say something a bit more optimistic on your chances, but the reality is that there is very little chance, at least from what I’ve seen (not much, if that’s any consolation), that you’ll get in. Sorry.

Oh hey, no problem! There’s a 9% chance from the top students across the globe. I’m not surprised. The only reason why I did this was because they’ve been sending me e-mails and mails.

Haha. I just don’t think Yale really has anything to say right now. I signed up for their mailing list too ( a while ago I think) and all I’ve gotten from them are emails about multicultural meetings and info sessions near me. I guess the deal is that not a lot of ppl apply to Yale from the area of NY that I live in (less than an hour from Ithaca) so they’re trying to get more people interested.

well, I say apply obviously. You have basically the same stats I do (not that it matters) and I am applying. Also, as everyone for the most part already says, no one on here is truly qualified to chance somebody unless they are an admissions officer. You are already in the top probably 25% of the country for college admissions, probably higher. I might be a bit optimistic in that stat, but you ACT and GPA are awesome.

But, hey, it does not hurt to ask people on this forum, nor does it hurt for people to give their imput. Good luck.

Nothing in particular that stands out, especially for an Asian female. Most of all, you need a college admissions plan more than “Yale or Bust”!
