Your GPA is slightly lower than mine is but your SAT scores are higher. Your EC's and service record are probably better. I got in; if that matters.

I'd say you have a better than average shot.

Tom I had very very very similar stats to you when i applied to BC and i got in and am going to attend next year. Our GPA was nearly identical, my verbal SAT was a 780, Math a 640 and writing 700 so our SAT's are similar. I was also captain of my varsity football team. Basically what you need to do to push yourself over the edge is make it really clear that Boston College is your first choice. Send them a letter of reccomendation perhaps from a BC alum you know basically reiterating how much you want to go to the college. You might want to consider early action. anyways good luck

My daughter got admitted ( class of 2011), with 2010 SAT's ( 710V, 600M, and 700W) SAt 2's were 680 and 750, 2 AP's were 4 and 5, finishing 3 AP's now, HS avg was 95% , competitive NY public HS that sends 5 to 8 kids to IVY's and a whole lot to near IVY's, school doesn't rank but is in top 5%. Lots of EC's including sports and clubs. Anyway she got in and I thought it was a true reach, she was WL'ed at BUcknell, Hamilton and Conn college and accepted at 8 others...matches and safeties, some with merit money. Kids with higher stats got W/L at BC but the 5 kids from her HS that are going had similar or sl lower stats...college admissions I found out are unpredictable...apply to several colleges and Good luck

your golden in my opinion. my gpa and sats were lower than urs but i had more extra curriculars and i got accepted. ur resume looks good though. good luck

maybe up your writing SAT score and show a big commitment to one certain cause for volunteering....BC loves volunteering....you should be good but that'll just increase your chances....

i pretty much have the same exact stats as you.. 1460 m+v and a 3.7 weighted gpa at the end of jr year in a public hs that sends tons of kids to ivies/top schools. i had tons of volunteer work and was the captain of varsity cheerleading for two seasons.. you look to be in good shape because i was accepted early and am attending in the fall. good luck!
