Hi... my grade in HS was quite good but not Berkeley or Stanford calibre,so I am going to UIUC for computer science (Which is ranked 5th according to USNEWS)..since then I improved alot and now I am getting a 3.6-3.7 gpa...do I have any chance of getting in Berkeley or Stanford as a transfer student? Will those schools perfer me more than students with like 3.9 or 4.0 from community colleges since obviously UIUC is harder to get good gpa compared to comunity colleges?

Berkeley will probably prioritize students from community colleges even before looking at your application. Stanford is a different story. I say you have better chance at Stanford than Berkeley, but, regardless, you should try both schools.

Are you still a California resident? If so, that may play a big role in your admission chances to Cal.

hmm.. I have a Californian ID.. my family got a house in California... but I don't live in California (I lived Oversea before I came to college in US).. am I considered to be a Californian resident? Anyone got any idea about my chance of getting into berkeley or stanford?
