I am a junior in Nebraska. I got my PSAT scores back today, and I got a 220. Do I have any chance of being a National Merit Semi-Finalist?

Excellent score. Yes, you have a very good chance of being a NMF. I don’t think NE’s cutoff has ever been close to 221 (which the score would need to be for you to miss making NMSF in your state).

How does the selection index play into the process?

??

220 is your selection index. That is your PSAT score.

Your score is much higher than Nebraska’s past cutoff scores.

You should have no trouble making National Merit with a 220 in Nebraska! To track information on qualifying scores submitted by users of this site, follow the thread
