please tell me if i have a chance i think that i am doomed due to a 3.65 gpa
also if it helps my dad is a law professor at a university and a judge

Whoa....you live near UCF? What HS do you go to?!?

Well, you're in the top 10% of your class, I'd say you have a shot.

im 12.8% and i got deferred ><

that's not really low...you have a shot

Thanks, do you know what the average GPA is of the people admitted RD?

Yah when it comes to GPA and rank, rank will be given more weightage as a 4.0 GPA in Hicksville, Texas can equal a 3.0 GPA in some other place. Whereas, rank provides your standing in context with other people.

Yeah at my first high school, I would have an 89 in a class and I would have the second highest grade, in a class of thirty. At my new high school if you have an 89 you are about in the middle of a class of thirty, so my class rank is messed up. I'm going to have my counselor from both my schools send something to explain my rank.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL ON THE CORNELL BOARD

Not impossible... I just got into the Big Red with a 3.6 weighted gpa

wow a 3.6 weighted, that's great that you were accepted, what kind of school was that?

A public school in nj- we are ranked around 15 in the state. We typically do well at Cornell

i had a 3.5 u.w. and got in.....nothings impossible

im in top 15% (i think im more around the 12% range) and i got accepted, although applied ed. a low gpa doesnt mean your doomed. if your school sends a gpa conversion sheet showing your schools average gpa compared to that of the national, your gpa would be boosted upon review. my school's average gpa (lets say 3) is level around the national 4 mark. my gpa should have told cornell that i am going to a very rigorous school and am taking tough classes. although i may not earn a lot of A's in my academic setting, i still know the stuff very well. i guess what im trying to say is that, if your school can convey its academic excellence and the tough classes that it offers, your set. if not...then...hope for the best

good luck

what about me? i have a 3.4 an 40 something percentile so thats gonna kill me.

ok a 3.65 GPA is good thats not a "low, low low GPA"

OK let me just clue you in on the REALITY of your CHANCE...I know people who got into Cornell w/GPA's of like 3.0 and were only top quartile of their class...I also know people who have gotten rejected w/like VERY high SATs and 4.5 GPA's...it really is IMPOSSIBLE to see if you have "any chance"...and btw stop being dumb that is NOT a "low, low, low GPA" (and if you really think that it is, thats pretty unfortunate.)
