All Else I believe is redundant

Having listed what appears to be unimpressive grades and activities compared to those on these boards, what are my chances for the following schools?

I wouldn't say they "don't like" OOSers, but rather that they just really like in-staters. =p

But really, it's because there are enough applicants from in-state, and UC's purpose is to serve the people of California first. So OOSers have to be pretty damn good to get in. (Overall, I think some 7% of the student body is OOS.)

^^no, berkeley isn't really that much harder to get in oos. the admit rate is about the same as in-state (20%-25% or so). i don't believe the oos applicant pool somehow is better than those for schools like penn or duke. given penn and duke also have around 20% admit rate, it makes no sense to say berkeley is reach while upenn/duke is slight reach. they don't take a lot of oos but there aren't a lot of oos applicants either; part of the reason of this is that oos tuition isn't cheap and the school isn't known to give good FA packages like the privates.

this is unreal to me. My brother went to Emory it was a safety school! Things are out of control now. The people interviewing you now might not make it into their own school on the grades and stats they had in high school. I feel for you guys I really do. I know this year there are a record number of applicants. Just know that ultimately you can do well anywhere, especially if graduate school is your goal. I knew someone who went to Yale undergrad and didn't get into medical school and someone who went to a very mid range college and did.
I went to Washington University in St. Louis. so far I haven't seen it pop up on anyone's list but it is a great school.
Good luck to you
