Hello,
I've slacked off in high school but have good SAT and ACT scores. I've always wanted to be a doctor but am worried about my grades affecting my chances of getting into a good school. My question is if I got into a University with a pre-med program could I work my butt off and then possibly get into med school by my performance as an undergraduate?

Once you’re in college, no one (other than maybe your grandparents?) will ever look at your high school grades again. They will have NO impact on your admission to med school.

The above posters have given you good advice. The question for you is what is your plan to “work your butt off?” To be ready for eventual med school, you need a superior overall GPA (+3.5), superior GPA in med school pre-req courses, and solid MCAT scores.

Are you a good science student? Do you have the capacity to memorize enormous amounts of info? Is medicine really a good fit for you? Medicine is a laudable goal. Just saying you’re willing to work hard is only the start. Good luck to you
