Any Chance?

Hey guys,

What do you think my chances are at getting into UCSB?
I am a Junior in a rather competitive high school in California.
I am hispanic and I would be the first in my family to go to a University. (My sister is at a community college and does not have plans to transfer)
I have taken mostly CP classes with a B average and I have taken 2 Honors classes.
Next year I will be in 3 AP classes and 1 Honor class and I will have completed French 3 and Spanish 4 by the end of my senior year.
I have not taken the SAT yet, which leads me to my following question:
What SAT range should I aim for?
Thanks in advance

GPA: 3.1 Rank: 207/637
ECS: Student Body President for my senior year
JV Soccer 1 year and Varsity Soccer possibly senior year.
Secretary of French Club and Good Guys Club.

i think you’re gonna need to step up your game. i know a friend who was ranked 26/500 or so, 4 years of band and volleyball, a few AP’s no idea what the SAT score was and was rejected from all the UC’s s/he applied to. his/her only option is to go to slo, the only place s/he was accepted at

high SAT score, really high

Since your GPA is slightly low, I think you should aim for 2100-2200 if you want a very good shot at getting in.

get a bunch of ec’s and a 2000+ SAT / 30+ ACT or really buckle down last semester of jr year and get a 4.0… if you can show substantial academic improvement and write some damn good essays in your application you will be in
