Hey guys, I have about around a 3.5 UC GPA and I got a 1870 on my SAT's, I took many honors classes throughout high school (more than I should have) and I have 2 APs ready to take next year.

I am on my student government and I am a co-president for my schools Hispanic club (even though i am not hispanic). I have about 100 community service hours in total and have had 3 jobs throughout high school.

I’d say your chances would improve greatly if you re-took the SAT. UCSB is getting more and more popular each year and some of my friends were rejected with UC GPAs around 3.6-3.7 (hs class of 2010).

No offense, but I know people with stats like that who got rejected by UCSB and even SDSU. Like hiimleila said it’s getting harder every year. Try and retake the SAT. The people I know that are going this year all had like 3.9-4.1.

Your ec’s are pretty good though. I think UCs like community service. :)

ucsb is climbing and stats like those wont survive without good back up like essays on the app and improved grades this next semester. do work son.

re take the sat’s. i got in with a 3.4 and 2090 plus crappy sat 2’s
i had decent extracurriculars

so just try to take as many practice tests as you can ( i raised my score almost 44 pts this way) and write a good personal statement and you should have a pretty good chance!
