I know I posted before, but not in this forum. Here are my stats:

Where - South Dakota
GPA - 4.4 weighted
APs - Bio, APUSH, and Euro all 5
This year - English Lang, English Lit, Cal BC, Spanish, Chemistry
ACT - 33 (superscore, highest in 1 sitting = 32)

ECs (fairly lacking)
Very interested in art, doing it for seven years, but without any major awards - except maybe and invitation to become artist at professional art store in town
Writing - won several local awards, including honors in Young Poet’s Anthology
Debate - won a few regional tourny awards in LD, but nothing spectacular
National Honors Society
Spanish National Honors Society

However, I know my application isn’t very compelling, but I was wondering if I show my passion for art in the essays, if this would gain me an acceptance, or is there no chance wo/awards, even with an art supplement?

hey skp, i've been an artist for a very long time, as well (12 years), and likewise, i don't have any awards for it but i'm going to send in an art supplement too. think about it- if they like the artwork that you send in, then not having any awards isn't going to matter coz they know you've got the talent. and yeah, obviously it's going to help that youre from south dakota and you're spanish.

Your ECs are fine, much better than the laundry list most people post here. You chose something and stuck with it. You are humble and under-represent your accomplishments. You are not an automatic, but in the running, and this is the best anybody can tell you.

Yeah, I second GroovyGeek, you have very focused EC's that seem to be of great quality since they require great dedication. And you sound like a pretty cool, pretty unique person too. You can probably write a very creative and artsy essay, and then you should be near the front of the pack.

dietcoke, when did you email them? Because I asked them the same question and they said they do not mix the highest subscores, but rather they only look at your highest composite.
