What’s your UC GPA? If it’s in the same ballpark as your weighted, start looking at Cal Poly SLO, UCSC, San Jose State, and Santa Clara University. You’ll still need a good set of safeties and solid matches though. Are you willing to go out of state?
I can’t predict which of the UCs will accept you, but you should apply to all of the UC campuses that you would like to attend, and just see what happens. Your extracurriculars and UCLA class sound very good.
If your weighted GPA is 3.95 (previously stated on your other thread it was a 4.25?), then it will be a tough admit for UCLA/UCB/UCSD/UCI/UCSB. UCD could be a High Match if you apply for CS to the College of Letters and Sciences. UCSC looks like a Match along with UC Riverside. UC Merced would be a good safety.
Cal Poly SLO would be a Low Reach. This year’s Freshman profile for the College of Engineering was an average SLO GPA of 4.21 and Average SAT score of 1481. CS has the lowest acceptance rate in the college.
SJSU’s CS Eligibility threshold was 4725. Based on your posted stats, your EI is 4580. You might want to consider Software Engineering instead with an EI threshold of 4200 this year.
I would definitely apply widely and include CSULB, SDSU, CSU Fullerton and/or Cal Poly Pomona to list besides the UC’s if you want to stay in California.
Turns out I was looking at my Junior year GPA when I made those post, my UC GPA is 3.95 and my W GPA is 3.88
My UC GPA is 3.95 and my W GPA is 3.88
Since your UC GPA is below 4.0, most of the UC’s will tough admits. I believe I linked this table already in one of your other threads, but since CS is one of the most popular and competitive majors at the UC’s, the admit rates will be lower. Also these are the 2017 numbers, since 2018 data is not yet available.
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:
UCB: 12.6%
UCLA: 11.7%
UCSD: 38.7%
UCSB: 53.6%
UCD: 56.5%
UCI: 52.1%
UCSC: 75.7%
UCR: 90.1
UCM: 96.1%
UCF in Florida would be a strong safety for you. They have an amazing program and many interships in Orlando. Their programming team has gone to internationals multiple times and recently was the highest ranking team in North America, placing 10th worldwide beating out teams from Stanford, MIT, and Harvard.
Do you believe that taking the SAT 2 for Math will make any meaningful difference? Like is it worth at this point for low tier UCs or CPP/SJSU
http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/requirements/examination-requirement/SAT-subject-tests/index.html lists UC campus policies with respect to SAT subject tests.
CSUs do not use SAT subject tests for admission.
