Hello! Did anyone receive any such confirmation? Or any instructions to check one's credentials? I don't know if this is still too early to ask but the other colleges which I've applied to have already sent me some sort of confirmation through email. I also can't find any credential checking page on Dartmouth's website. Did I miss it?

I got it, but I didn't apply.

-_-

I was going to! but then it cost too much and I didn't think I was gonna go even if I got in....

but I got my confirmation today!

I called the office a couple of days ago asking my formulaic question of "Yes, I'm calling to check on the status of my application" They said wait 'till mid January, when they apparently send out little D-mouth postcards assigning applicant a login and pin to check their staus on some page that I believe does not yet exist. Or perhaps they are just breaking me in slowly for my rejection? Good luck

I applied E.D., and they will send you a letter that has your pin number and password so that you can login in and check the status of your website. I also got a confirmation e-mail like two weeks after I set in the pre-app, which said that they would send the pin number by mail. Hope that helps.

Thanks tree hugger for jogging my memory! Yes, I received that email from Dartmouth ages ago after I sent in my pre-app, and forgot about it as I was caught up with all my applications. I had been wondering why Dartmouth hadn't sent me anything when the other colleges were confirming my applns! Thanks again! imakeyoulookgood, you've probably just sent in your pre-app? Perhaps that's why you haven't received the email. Or maybe you're like me and that email is buried in your inbox! ;)

Have you gotten the piece of mail yet with your pin number? Because that's the more important thing. I got mine like three weeks after I got the e-mail. Then you can check to make sure you have everything in, but at this point (if you haven't gotten it), I wouldn't worry too much because I am sure Dartmouth (like most schools), will let you know if you are missing something. Besides they've only had ten days to sort through 10,000 applications for missing documents. :)

Yes, I got that last month too! I checked my status yesterday and am so glad everything is in! Dartmouth is really quite different from the other schools, they don't list all of your credentials; they just tell you that everything is in.

That's great! Good luck! I hope to see you next fall. :)

I haven't gotten any confirmation. I mailed my pre-app in late Dec (I didn't realize that I could do it online :) ), and I submitted my app on Jan 1st. Should I be worried? On the status page of the common app, it says that they've downloaded my app, though.

i havent gotten anything either.

I submitted my Pre-app online in late december, and my paper common app on January 1st.

I got an e-mail then a s-mail with a Pin number and account info.

just curious, Eddiee, why did you apply with the paper Common App instead of online?

I wanted to send in something extra (a picture) and I couldn't do that online. It's part of my "hook," I guess.

they arent going to let you in for being good looking

Aww really?

i used paper so i could submit extra stuff like research abstracts and an extra essay.

hah i dont think so, sorry eddie. did you really think that was a hook?

yes they will david!!! or else i'm screwed!

jk

but seriously, i bet they would be more likely to admit a good-looking applicant if he's qualified

Yes my physical appearance was my hook.
DARNIT! lol

honestly, if youre good looking and sent in a picture when they didnt ask for one, you will most likely come off as a bit arrogant because you're going out of your way to show them what you look like. I am pretty good looking myself, and did not send in a picture for that very reason
