waves I'm coming out of my nice cloak of lurking invisibility.

Anyway, I sent in my application (on December 31...heh), and I know that there are some schools that send you a pin number/account login or some such thing. Is Dartmouth one of those schools? I haven't gotten any email from them saying that they've received my application materials, and I'm starting to get a little worried. I know it takes them some time to process everything, but it's almost the end of January...
Thanks!

I mailed my Dartmouth application a long time ago (in October I think), and, a few weeks later, I was sent a username and PIN for an online application status system.

I submitted my Dartmouth application around 20th of December and received a confirmation email from them at the beginning of January. Within that confirmation email there was a link where I could access my personal login information.

i applied on the 1st of january, and received their confirmation email one week later, in which there is a link to check your status. you will need to key in your birth date and other info, then only will they email you your username and id number.
here is what i got after i logged in,
Dear XXXXXXX,

Thank you for your Regular Decision application for Dartmouth's Class of 2013. Please review your current address information above and email us if it is not correct.

We are presently processing the materials we have received from you. Given the large volume of application materials that are currently being delivered to our office, we are unable to check on the receipt of individual forms at this time.

As soon as we assemble your materials for evaluation, we will post a status update to this page. If your file is still incomplete in early February, we will post a status update on this page to indicate what materials are missing from your file.

We appreciate your interest in Dartmouth and your patience. We look forward to reviewing your application.

Eh, I'll probably email them about it soon or something. Patience is one thing, a full month is another. I mean, if they take a month to process the apps, I have no idea how they can read and analyze them by April...

smalllab, they can't have an auto-denied list, as they don't have a minimum sat or gpa requirements.

If you want to compare, here is what it says to me:

Dear XXXXXXXX,

We have received all materials necessary to begin the review of your Regular Decision application. Should we have any questions or require further materials from you, we will contact you directly via email or telephone. If you have not already done so, please check your email address to be sure we have your current email on record.

Candidates will be notified of their admissions decisions at the end of March.

We appreciate your interest in Dartmouth and are pleased to be evaluating your application.

i had not received my confirmation either.
However, i went to the website and entered my email and it sent me my information.
i never received an email but it still worked, so do this.

google "dartmouth application status"

click the first link.

go to the bottom of the page where it says "click here to log in"

under the login...it says to "need your username and password? click here"

Thanks a bunch! I agree, their web page design is terrible, and so was the formatting of the e-mail they sent me.

Another weird thing is, they say they have received everything they need, but I know they can't have since one of my teachers didn't mail out a rec until today. (I know, that's cutting it really close. I'm not happy about it, either.) But why would they say they have everything when they can't possibly have everything?

i applied in novemeber, and i have not received anything.
i made my own account by following word to your moms steps and got that they have so many applications they don't know if they have received everything. they will tell us in early february.

is this bad? i saw earlier that this might be an "auto denied" list.
