Any course recommendations for the following general education requirements?

So, I got my AP scores back. Not too bad, but not exactly what I was expecting or working for.
Anyhow, I have 26 college credits for general education.
Here are the following things I have to fill. I'd appreciate any feedback/course titles as to what I should take. Any class that you found enjoyable, had a good professor, etc, would really be appreciated! I'm not looking for "easy" courses, but time-consuming electives need not apply.

3 credits for Diversity
3 credits for Humanities
6 credits of Math
9 credits of Physics/Biology
6 credits of Social studies

I have 3 govt. credits from a dual enrollment intro to government class and 3 comp credits from my English Lang score floating around too. Could those count for something?

Also, could I get these done within a year/year and a half? If this is the case, is another major (or just a minor) a possibility?

I want to be a science major preferably..on the pre-med track. I really enjoy government, econ, and science.

Thanks!

You can take AST3043 to satisfy some requirements, check it out.

EDIT: I only have the English class’ credits not being used (3 credits from my English Language) because the polisci course (POS1112) is not offered at UF, thus the credits will not transfer.

major in econ.

Diversity is the worst. There’s pretty much no interesting options for diversity in my opinion.

Applied Anthropology with Dr. Baber was pretty easy at least, if you actually go to class and write the paper (I did neither) you should get an easy A. He’s pretty monotone but some of the stuff you talk about is interesting.

If you wanna cop out on the bio credit, take wildlife issues, man’s food, and like age of dinosaurs. I took wildlife issues, all online, open book tests, easy A (probably spent about 4 hours total on that class).

There’s lots of good humanities/social sciences courses, I took psych cause I think people are interesting. you shouldn’t have a problem finding some of those that you will enjoy.

Well, I have a 4 from AP for Bio, and I’ll be a science major, so I’m taking all of those courses (not going to use the credits) at UF since I’m planning on med school. I’ll write down that Diversity course though. Thanks Zaersz!

You can fill the humanities and diversity credit at the same time or the social science and diversity at the same time. I took Marriage and Family for an S and D credit and it was fairly easy. I heard Theatre Appreciation (H and D) was an easy one too.

If you’re pre-med, you’ll get all of the physics/ biology classes and your math courses through the pre-med courses.

[Office of the University Registrar](http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc/201008/gened.html)
That website will give you every gen ed offered based upon which type you’re looking for.

Hi! I have a question, in Preview, the Advisor gives you the option of choosing the Major in that moment (if you know what you want) or they put you in the stupid EXPLORING - SOCIAL AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES degree even though you want a specific major?

your major should have been determined by what you noted on the application.

I believe you could also “switch” your major at Preview, too. I signed up as an English major; I pray to God that I’m not stuck with that. :p

Yeah but when you go to ISIS, in the Audit, what comes up? Your major (the one you selected at Preview) or the EXPLORING - SOCIAL AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES thing?

They’re suppose to put you in your major at preview, unless you have no idea. Of course, the preview staff sucks, so odds are they’ll mess something up along the way.

Your major should show up on your degree audit, otherwise, yea, they messed up.

THe easiest way around this, at least temporarily, is just use the “degree shopping” option, shop by major, and pick the one you want. That way you can look at the tracking for your actual major.

yeah, i guess in the best way, or also one can go to the advisor and tell him/her to change it. however, i hope to have a good preview advisor, if not, i smell fight. :D

I’m at preview now, I say the advising doesn’t seem too bad. I’ll know more tomorrow.
