Like Real Genius for Caltech, Animal House for Dartmouth, etc?

there were some films that had some association at accepted weekend but i do not know which ones they were and how they are connected

Proof! Based on the play by a grad, and shot on our campus and in our math building!

We also like to claim When Harry Met Sally, because they’re both UChicago grads and meet on the road trip from Chicago to New York after graduation.

Those are the two you always hear about, and Proof does have nice shots of the University. Also:

– According to Raiders of the Lost Ark and the “Young Indy” TV series, Indiana Jones studied at the University of Chicago (where Marian Ravenwood’s father was a professor), and I think a bunch of Young Indy episodes I’ve never seen take place there (with his roommate, Eliot Ness).

– A River Runs Through It was originally a book by longtime Chicago professor Norman Maclean, for whom Maclean House is named. They show the movie outdoors in the courtyard there every spring. For some reason, no one has made any movies out of Saul Bellow’s books. Or Milton Friedman’s. Although I think there is a movie of Atlas Shrugged.

– The two great Chicago cult movies of the modern era are The Blues Brothers and Ferris Buehler’s Day Off. Neither has anything to do with the University, but both have tons of great Chicago locations and in-jokes.

– And Spiderman 2 famously has a huge fight scene recognizably filmed in The Loop, although in theory it takes place on the El in Manhattan. What El in Manhattan? you ask. Good question!

The only correct answer to this question is [Chain Reaction](http://www.amazon.com/Chain-Reaction-Keanu-Reeves/dp/B00005A3KT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1276218026&sr=1-1)

Epic scenes include:

The introduction, which very distinctly takes place in Mandel Hall.

Rachel Weisz saying, “Stop by my apartment at 53rd and Kimbark!” (a very plausible Hyde Park address for an undergrad)

And others. I won’t give the movie away.

added all the above to my netflix- can’t wait!

A Scav item that had something to do with creating a trailer for a movie about the most boring class the university offers

Snitchcock presents Archaeological Data Sets
