any current or recent grads out their?

so how is this school? student happiness, biology /pre med, housing , food etc..?

why doesn’t Susquehanna seem to get more attention?

I graduated in 2005 and grew as a person at SU. Majored in Marketing, studied abroad on two occasions, was class president twice, was in a fraternity, played rugby.

Housing was great, especially compared to other schools I looked at. I had no complaints with the food, they are willing to accommodate many different types of dietary restrictions.

Feel free to ask me anything. I still keep in contact with many staff and faculty, so I’d be glad to reach out to them if you’d like to know anything.

are most students happy they are attending school there? how close is the closest hospital? closest airport? do they have single rooms?

I found that a lot of people were very happy there. It is a very close-knit campus, so you make friends easily.

Closest hospital is Sunbury, which is not far away at all. The closest airport with commercial service is Harrisburg (about an hour away), although Philadelphia (2:45) and Newark (3:00) are close too. They do have single rooms, but they are difficult to get for new students.

Susquehanna has one of the prettiest, most well-maintained campuses I’ve ever seen- we visited in the Spring of this year, and the buildings and grounds were absolutely beautiful, and the people we came in contact were all open, helpful, and friendly. That being said, Susquehanna is in an extremely isolated area. The town of Selinsgrove, where Susquehanna is located, is quaint and cute, but it’s extremely small and would probably lose it’s appeal to college students rather quickly. I’d recommend that anyone who’s seriously considering Susquehanna make the investment of a trip to the campus so they can see the campus, talk with the people, and see the surrounding area for themselves.

Bumping this thread. DS was just admitted. We’re in VA and while I’m familiar with many of the Ohio schools, for some reason we never got around to exploring PA schools. Who has more info? To the marketing grad (BTW, DS is interested in marketing and his big brothers both play rugby!), what are you doing now?

I actually work for in client relations for a collegiate marketing company (we do fundraisers with campus organizations - Residence Hall Associations, Alumni Offices, etc.). After I graduated from SU, I went on to earn my MBA in Global Business (since I enjoyed studying abroad so much with SU, I wanted to pursue international aspects of business more).

If you have more questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be glad to talk by phone too, if you have a lot of questions.

I have two sons attending SU now. They and I are very happy.Their four older siblings attended more"prestigious" schools. We have seen virtually every name brand school east of the Mississippi.Yes,SU’s campus is compact and quaint. The town is small and safe.State College and Harrisburg airports are hour and a half distant. The school is about twenty miles south of I-80 and ten miles from Bucknell.
What impressed me most immediately was the students.Nice kids.Genuinely nice kids from good families.
My sons are on the track/xc teams. So I converse often with parents and athletes at the meets.I always ask what attracted them to Susquehanna. The unanimous reply is a campus visit.Virtually everyone days seeing the school did it at once.No further trips, tours necessary.
The school is small. The faculty is impressive. The school is well regarded by those in the know.It truly is a close knit family.
