I had to wait two hours online even though I was on and waiting right at 4 o’clock and couldn’t get Block O. It wasn’t even an option on the ordering screen. Everyone logged on at the same time and I think it was just random, some people were allowed on the website earlier and got to purchase Block O. I didn’t have any trouble getting online and those tickets last year but with this new system I’ve heard all kinds of complaints. I can’t stand Ticketmaster - how can they know who’s next to order when everyone is logged in at the same time?

Does this mean they held tickets for the freshmen ordering window for Block O, at the expense if upperclassmen? I know a lot of people will be very angry if that’s the case. Or does that mean Block O is full for everyone left?

just wondered if anyone else experienced this, or maybe most people on here are new students and haven’t ordered yet.

I asked my son if he got his tickets yesterday. Apparently, he did get them but there was a long wait to get logged in and then longer to actually buy his tickets- maybe like half hour. Sounds like it was a pain but he did have the Block O option- This was between 4 and 5 yesterday I assume. I think it took some time last year too.

dd started at 4:06 and waited until 5:40!..no Block O and they did save some for freshman. Assigned times by credit hours so maybe your frosh had the minimum hours editor? my dd had 54 heading into spring quarter, so was already soph, now has 71.

I am a transfer student that will be starting in the fall… the first transcript i sent OSU when I applied last fall had 44credit hours from my freshman year, just one shy of being a sophomore. so now I have to order with incoming freshmen when I should be with the sophomores… oh well

my friend who has an incoming frosh only waited 8 minutes for her order yesterday and also got block O…seems really unfair to current students especially considering itheir window was Monday of finals week and you had to keep watching your screen while waiting

I ordered on Monday (I’ll be a senior) and it took me less than 10 minutes. It’s all the luck of the draw - it seems fair, I don’t think there’s a better way to do it. This year’s system is an improvement on last year’s.

Actually, they calculate it purely based on your rank as of Spring Quarter, when you’re ordering. In previous years they didn’t assign seats when you bought them, but sometime in the summer. So she should still get seats equivalent to her sophomore ranking.

Who on earth would get angry? None of my fellow upcoming senior friends are, and we’re the only ones who would be justified in anger. In previous years they let everyone order at once - Block O has never been “guaranteed” to upperclassman. Everyone knows that if you want it, you’ve got to move fast.

Actually, I’m not angry, but I know many people at higher rank who were, that’s why I asked. Not Block O, necessarily, just even trying to log on.

Even though we all logged in at the same time in our room, some got tickets within about 15 minutes and the others took anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2. Same thing on the rest of our floor. That’s why everyone was annoyed. Of course not everyone gets Block O. (We were hoping to avoid forming a group for our situation). What we couldn’t figure out is why the Block O option was just removed instead of saying “sold out”, so we thought maybe something was wrong with the ordering. (this was for rank 2 students).

The ticket office said that the Block O sold out within an hour (for this rank) and was just removed from the screen. She did say that there were many complaints about access taking so long when people were logging on at basically the same time but with wildly differing wait times and they were aware there might be an issue.

We never tried to get tickets for the Miami game since it’s before school starts. I know of quite a few incoming freshmen who got them, though, and very few rank 2 who did, so that seems weird.

In any case, our problem was resolved. Just wondered if everyone else had an issue like this.

^I heard people got locked out if they tried to hit refresh too much. D logged in a few minutes ahead of time, hit refresh at exactly 4:00 pm, got in in 10 minutes. Incoming freshman. Sorry.

^the actual seats have not been assigned yet, it means “to be determined” I think. Once you get tickets, you can form and join “groups” so that seats will be assigned together and you can sit with your friends, your club, etc, if you want. Otherwise, your seat is just assigned to you once they start the process, wherever they decide to put you by rank. I don’t know when you will “officially” know, maybe not until you pick up your tickets. Groups have to be formed before the end of June, though.

Why in the world would they sell tickets to students during finals week? (Helloooo?)

My daughter will be a senior and didn’t get a ticket to the Miami game. She had trouble getting her tickets during her window and (I think) ended up getting them later.
