My D is a HS jr who cyberschools due to the intensity of her ballet schedule. She lives away from home, and altho the ballet program has an arrangement with a local HS, the schedule just did not work out for the advanced classes she wanted to take. She also was tired of wasting a lot of time in class- she is a very literate, avid NYT reader kid. This is her 2nd year of cyberschool- she has taken online college level English and French classes, as well as AP Bio and APUSH this year. Next year she is moving back home, and (hopefully) will take a class or two at the local U (Penn), as well as additional college level/AP courses. She is giving up ballet FT, given the job situation reality. Do any parents have any experience with how cyberschooling- not homeschooling or unschooling (if my D did this there would be NO MATH!) is perceived?
