Any experience with dorm RA applications?

Two friends’ kids have applied to be RA’s for UCF Housing, starting in Fall 2021.

The dorm lottery has been held and neither (one male, the other female) got into the dorms. Both are currently “waitlisted” for dorms. That puts them in a very awkward situation. If they don’t get the RA positions, they have no place to live!

The off-campus apartments usually fill up in February for the Fall move-in, so they will have difficulty trying to move off campus.

Anyone have any experience with RA applications?

How did it work out for the 2 students you mentioned in this thread? I’m curious if you learned anything to pass along to others about the RA process.

Neither one got an RA position, so they moved to off-campus apartments.

I have virtually no info on the RA selection process, and I have not asked either of them or their parents.
