Any experience with SACI-Florence?

My sophomore D is interested in spending her fall semester next year in Florence studying studio art (specifically, ceramics and sculpture) and art history through this program.

Has anyone had any personal experience with it, good or bad?

SACI stands for Studio Art Centers International.

It’s been a while and I wonder if you found anything out. My daughter is doing a gap year - deferring university- and wants to study art at saci fall of 2010. We are from ohio and know that people from Bowling Green go there so it seems somehow ok…but don’t know anyone personally. We have heard from an art historian professor that it is 'the real deal"- not just expensive babysitting…

we are seeking information. It looks quite wonderful but I think I may speak to the art department at Bowling Green.

No responses except yours! Our D is also applying for fall 2010 as a first semester junior. There apparently have been a number of students from her college that have attended SACI and so the school’s Study Abroad office is familiar with it. That’s pretty much all I know at this point.

do you mind telling me what school that is? I’m curious which colleges tend to send kids there.

It’s Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.
