Any Failed attempts to transfer into EECS?

I have been attempting to transfer into EECS since I found out I got in to Berkeley (and that I declared MechE instead) and am afraid it might not work out, and that maybe MechE would just be okay since it has a decent amount of overlap of the stuff I want to do that's EE-related. I'd like to look into robotics, MEMS, Signals and systems, and that sort of thing, which they both seem to have, but definitely more emphasis in EECS. I guess if I don't make it into EECS i'd probably do MechE and an EECS minor, but what do you guys suggest? Any "failures" like me? lol

Wait are you saying you are a current student trying to transfer into EECS but failed??

How many times did you apply (once or twice)
When did you apply? (after 1st semester or 2nd semester?)
Did they tell you why you can’t transfer?

Yes, I’m a current UC Berkeley student. I haven’t applied yet, and due to their weird requirements I can’t until the end of the summer. The only reason why I’m worried about not making it is GPA, they require a 3.2 and apparently that could be going up soon.

can you tell me what classes that you took are killing your GPA

Physics 7A, 7B now.

Go to the change of college workshop - it was really helpful! But yeah…she said unless you have practically all A’s on the prereqs you took (7A/B, EE20/40, CS 61A/B/C, math…) or some other circumstance that is explained in the essay, you have almost no chance  If you don’t meet the min, she said they will most likely just throw it out - and they plan to raise the min for next year.

I’m not changing colleges though. I know it’s harder for people outside of engineering to get into EECS, and heard about the GPA raise only for people in other colleges.

Should I just major in MechE and minor in EECS? I’m already minoring in Music so I’m afraid that might be a little too much. Plus what if I find a job say in control systems and they’re looking for an Electrical Engineer (or similar field), will I have the credentials to apply for this job when I graduate? (or at the very least, the experience and education in it, having to prove to the employers that I have the education in it)? And could I possibly get a job as a software or hardware engineer with these credentials? It seems that I will have the education through either a major or minor path in EECS.
