hey guys I was just wondering if any fall 08 transfers had been accepted to emory college. They say they mail decisions out after june 1 but i heard someone on cc saying they had already been accepted. I got my letter confirming I had eveything in, etc. about a week and a half ago. Im anticipating my decision in about a week. How bout everyone else?

they sent me a course catalog. not sure if it means anything

My son's still waiting. We were told that decisions would be mailed out on Monday (June 2nd).

Good luck.

yea good luck everyone!! I got a catalog too and I just figured they gave that to every applicant but hey you never know. I have the link in Opus that says I can pay my deposit too. I read somewhere on CC where ppl were saying that gives you a 99% chance of acceptance but im not getting my hopes up.

Panda, "I have the link in Opus that says I can pay my deposit too. I read somewhere on CC where ppl were saying that gives you a 99% chance of acceptance"

Is that true?? Where on CC does it say that? Not that I think you're lying, but I have that link too, so you're just getting me excited, but I don't want to get my hopes up if it's not true. haha.

mack, i dont know exactly but I was reading some other Emory threads and I came across that. This evidence might be slightly more reliable: I called Emory yesterday to ask when I should expect my letter. The admissions officer told me that it had been sent out and I should expect it any day now. I asked her for my decision over the phone but she said she couldnt tell me. I then asked her if everyone had a link in Opus to pay the deposit or if having the link was symbolic or significant. She chuckled and said yes, thats VERY symbolic. So I think she pretty much told me I was accepted. Im not telling any friends/family or even getting too excited myself until the letter comes. For anyone reading this, I wouldnt say that not having the link means youre definetely rejected, but having it almost certainly means youre in.

wow... like you said, I don't want to get too excited... but that information makes me feel a little better. haha. Thanks!

My son called today and was told that Goizueta Business School transfer applicants (like him) would receive a email within the next few days to tell them of their status.

Here's hoping for good news.

ah... when is the freaking letter gonna get here!!!!???!!!

i called the admission office again..... and found out that my decision letter was mailed on may22 and i still havent received it!!! then this lady (who was different than the officer of my first call) tells me the Opus link for a deposit payment means NOTHING!! what the heck. now im back to being scared again.... well I now feel like im having a conversation with myself as I have made two consecutive posts so someone else please feel free to chime in lol

I will chime in to wish you good luck. I know you're really stressed out, but hang in there!!

thanks mynetter! I really appreciate it and yes I am somewhat stressed. Its even worse because I dont have a job right now so I pretty much stare out the window waiting on the mail haha. But for anyone interested, I visited some old threads today and found some ways to "test" if you were accepted. Basically there are some other sites in the Emory network that you can log into with your OPUS ID and password. apparently ability to log in correlates with acceptance. heres the link: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/emory-university/142233-opus-changes-2.html Anyways thanks again MyNetter. I hope my obsessive worrying soon ends haha. good luck all

i got my letter today... how is everyone else? good luck

Congratulations, pandab50. That great for you!!!

Still no notice for my son--and we are unable to get a user ID and password for OPUS. It keeps saying that there is no registered user ID (no applicant user ID even) for someone with his birthday and social security number.

Don't know if that's a rejection, or just a glitch--but since he received an application receipt in the mail back in March, we presume it is the second.

Still, no e-mail, and no letter.

Wow, your letter was sent on May 22nd, but only received today (June 6th)--that's 15 days. Where do you live, pandab50?

Calcruzer, that should really be just a glitch. My D was accepted as freshman, went to another school and then transferred in this past spring semester. In both cases, when she was able to sign into OPUS, she had to call Emory's IT department to get it straightened out.

Good luck with the wait!

Thanks CalCruzer and good luck to your son I hope it all works out. I live in Richmond, Va so it shouldnt have taken 2 weeks!! the funny thing is my letter itself was marked May 21 but my envelope was postmarked June 3. I guess it sat on someones desk for quite some time haha

Congratulations, pandab50! And good luck to everyone still waiting.

I got my letter too and it also took like 2 weeks to get here! Now I just have to decide whether or not to go! They're not taking all of my credits and housing isn't guaranteed.... I don't know what to do!

My son is still waiting for a reply. I'm beginning to think they lost his application.
