waitlisted ;)) @buuzn03
My husband seldom wears suit and dress shoes. He bought a set many many years ago but only wore them once or twice in the past 10 years. Now he can finally use them again. During our first campus visit at Loomis, while we were following the 2 students, my husband suddenly stopped and tried to get rid of something off his shoes. He thought it was some dirty stuff from the yard, but turned out that they were part of a sole, bit by bit, the sole was falling apart, the shoe was almost broken in half! He finished the campus tour that way, also had the interview with the AO, busy trying to cover his shoes with the pant. Luckily no one seemed to notice that, and during the lunch time, we had to squeeze time to find a shoe store and bought a new pair of shoes, almost late for the afternoon interview with Taft.
In one of my interviews, we ended up talking about books, and I mentioned that while I used to read every book I came across (whether it was good or not), I’ve learned to put a book down if I’m not enjoying it (kind of dumb but it’s too late now). The interviewer asked me the name of the book, so I told her, and she said “oh, I love that book!”. So that was awkward.
The admissions officer asked me a question, and I smiled and said, “That’s a long story” and was about to proceed with my answer when she cut me off and said, “We don’t have time for a long story.” 8-|
I talked about pets with my Exeter interviewer
@randomapplicant1 that’s hilarious…did you get accepted?
Wow @randomapplicant1 that sounds like our interview at one of the most popular schools mentioned on CC. Dropped them to the bottom of our list!!!
I had a really bad cold during one interview and was totally out of it…coughing like I’d come down with the Black Plague and blowing my nose every 5 seconds. We didn’t apply since it didn’t seem like the school for us.
@buuzn03 same! That school was my number 1 but it dropped down a lot after that
@Nachthexen567 I got waitlisted
@randomapplicant1 oh…imo the interviewer was being a little rude there
@Nachthexen567 I talked about my cat in my Episcopal interview…I basically ended up saying that the hardest part about leaving home would be leaving my cat. The AO thought it was hilarious and I got in :))
That’s great @emro12! I said something similar but with my three better fish.
Our eldest son used a quote during his interview with Choate. On the way out, the interviewer casually asked where he had heard that quote. Of course I was horrified, when j heard him say “ Call of Duty”. No, he did not get in.
@vegas1 Oh no! What was the quote, if you remember?
I had a skype interview with Choate, and my grandma accidentally was making lunch in the background
@emro12 that’s awesome! I feel the same way about my cat…
@missinghome21 How could I forget: “History is written by the victor”.
@vegas1 hahaha…pretty sure that’s not an original Call of Duty quote. Just a teensy hunch
Didn’t ABBA write that, also? 8-|
