I am competing in the CyberPatriot competition; are there any good summer programs for cybersecurity? If not, are there any other (semi) prestigious camps that don’t require extremely tough admissions tests? (I already applied to COSMOS)
Bump
Interested in cyber-security as well. As far as I know, NSA sponsored gencyber last year (its free but not rigorous…)
@thunderlight8 are you more web-oriented or binary-oriented?
There were a bunch of free Gen-Cyber camps, but I don’t think they are being funded this year. Try searching computer science and counterintelligence on mysummeradvisor.com. There are many offered at different colleges and universities.
@0x0001 Probably web. I mostly work on Linux-based OS.
@thunderlight8 you can probably try to get an internship… but that is extremely difficult if you don’t have connections
@0x0001 =( How about you? Do you compete in any competitions?
@thunderlight8 I organize local cyber security competitions, but I don’t know if it helps much (it is definitely a leadership bump but I don’t know if thats worth it)
@0x0001 You should try CyberPatriot, it’s fun. Also, if your future major is going to be anything related to cybersecurity, I would say it’s worth it.
