I'm interested in one-year MA in IR programs. I'm going to UCSD for my undergrad in IS-POLS, and I want to get an MA in the future. Of course, UCSD's grad program is 5 years. I'm wondering if there are good schools with good reputation in the field that offer a one-year program. If not, I'll stick with the traditional 2-3 year, but I would rather get it done in one.

Have you thought about programs in the UK? The IR program at LSE is one-year and it’s much cheaper than anything comparable in the US. The programs at Oxford and Cambridge ar MPhil degrees, so they take two years.

Wow, they seem to have pretty good programs. Either the one year MS in IR or the two year joint MS in IR and IPE. I don’t know how I missed lSE considering I’m actually going there for summer school in July. I’ll find out more info while I’m there.

The only thing I’m concerned about, however, is the affordability issue. I have no problem applying for student loans/financial aid, but I doubt the US dept of ed would finance my studies abroad!
