So, uh, I'm a vegetarian, and I don't really know any good ideas for lunch at school. I usually take a lettuce sandwich or pasta, a chewy bar, and some apples, all of which I'm really starting to get bored of. I'm OK at home (I'm Indian) so I like eat rice and stuf at home. It's just don't have any idea of what to take to school. Any ideas for sandwiches and other vegetarian lunches would be great. Thanks!

jw...why ru veg?

oh- I've kinda been vegetarian my entire life 'cause i'm indian(my entire family doesn't), but it's just I never like meat, and I can't get used to it Besides, it's healthy being vegetarian :)

Find a food co-op in your area and join it. You'll save tons of money on quality, often times organic vegetarian foods.

I recommend spinach pies.

Check out The Teen's Vegetarian Cookbook by Judy Krizmanic - it has a lot of quick, easy lunch recipes. You can also search the Vegetarian Times Recipe Finder

A few ideas off the top of my head:
- wraps with veggies, hummus, cheese and fake cold cuts if you like that sort of thing
- pita and hummus (maybe put it in a pita pocket and add sprouts, carrots, cucumbers)
- tacos, burritos
- salads with beans or tofu
- bagel sandwiches with mozzarella, tomato, and basil
- veggie chili in a thermos
- peanut butter, honey, and banana sandwiches
- egg salad, if you eat eggs

PBJ sandwiches..greatest food EVER
Mac and cheese
Cold pizza
Cheese and crackers
Boca brand soy chicken patties
Bagels

<besides, it's="" healthy="" being="" vegetarian=""> idk about that....not trying to be a prick, but, most vegs i no aren't healthy (i dated a veg for a year, and she didn't seem too healthy).
Btw legolas i'm going to india tomorrow.....</besides,>

Hummus is good for sandwiches. There're also a lot of good types of lunch "meats" that you can usually get at most grocery stores that are really good for sandwiches.
