Fingers crossed, I intend to go to Harvard. My UK grades for A level, are predicted anything between AAA- AAA*, both of which means that back in the UK I would likely be accepted to either Oxford or Cambridge. (And I think translates to a 4.0) The Harvard website for british students says, " From a UK point of view Harvard does not place huge stress on your scores, and while good scores are a help, modest scores do not necessarily work against you, since the test content and technique are not usually as familiar to UK students as they are to American applicants.". I just received my SAT subject scores in Chemistry 590, and Physics 650, and I'm guessing that they are pretty low (I completely hate multiple choice). Are these really bad? Or scrape able of moderate? I'm so confused.. any help would be really appreciated. :)

(Please ignore the mispell of British, my bad :) )

Your chemistry score is below average (of those taking the test) and your physics score is average.

However, I’m not sure of how this would affect your admissions.

Yeah, I’m a British student DESPERATE to go to Yale.
Absolutely gutted with an SAT I score of 1820, especially with 10As and an A in the bank from GCSE and a prediction of five As at AS and a further AA*AA at A Level…
However, I’m going to retake it and try and do better… or considering taking the ACT.
I’m doing my SAT II tests in a week so fingers crossed I do better on those :)

Get SAT/ACT up; then worry about other things.

Hey,

The SAT Subject are 200 - 800. Most students are in the 700+ range. While Harvard admits that they won’t hold those scores against you, it’s best to NOT give them the chance to hold anything against you.

Your A-levels are hot, and if you stick around and take an IB i’m sure that will also be hot. So you have the brains. Take the time to learn the multiple choice style and take your subject test again and kill it.

You obviously get the phys and chem, right? So you just need some test taking strategy and some review. Do that, get your 700+, and go freeze in the USA.
