Hello all,
I am an international student from south Korea.
My mother passed away last year,
and she has been ill during my junior year in high school(I lived in Chile for 9 years and my SAT score was 1940 - Math 660 Reading 640) until she passed away.
Because of all the circumstances, I did poorly during my Freshman year in college
(3.5 first semester, 3.2 second semester but I took 20 credits with 1 300 lever course
and 1 400 level course).
Then I took a year off because I wanted to spend my time with my mother and family.
Things have been difficult for my family but I came book to school on Fall 2012 since life must go on, and I pulled out a 3.85 (2 As and 2 A-s).

I am attending a state school (top 100 us news ranking)
, and my current GPA is 3.46.
Will there be any top universities out there willing to take me as a transfer student?
Also, will there be any financial aid available for me?
My family spent a lot of our savings on my mom, and my sister will be going to college next year.

I am majoring in Political Science and the schools that I want to apply are Stanford, UPenn, Tufts, and Georgetown.

For extracurricular activities, I have interpreted for many companies from Spanish to Korean
and vice versa (I've also interpreted in high governmental meeting one of them being a private business meeting between Korean investors and the president of a South American country).

Also, I have received the minister of foreign relations and trade of Korea last year for winning the grand prize in a debate competition organized by the ministry of foreign relations of Korea.

Any help or insights will be appreciated..
