My D is accepted and sent in her deposit. Anyone else an entering freshman for August, 2009, class of 2013?

My daughter was accepted, but not 100% sure yet. Still seems a little torn between Notre Dame and Hillsdale. About 99.9% sure though, and we’re working on the other .1%! :)

What a fantastic place Hillsdale seems to be.

My son will be attending Hillsdale this fall, and will be going to Italy this summer with Hillsdale.

dave287–my daughter did the Hillsdale Italy trip last summer. It was completely awesome.

My son’s roommate has done Italy, France, and England with Hillsdale and he is still raving about those trips - as a college senior!

Congrats to all those Hillsdale acceptees! We have had Hillsdale kids at our house for years now and never met a bad apple!

I will be attending in the fall and traveling to England on the literature trip this summer. My brother is a junior at Hillsdale and really enjoys the school.

Toast,

Congratulations to you! And enjoy the trip!

I have been accepted. Can someone tell me how I can send in my enrollment deposit? I am an international student and I haven’t received any reply from admissions yet.

neethu16, since you are an international, there might be different circumstances for you. Please contact admissions asap for help.

Thank you! I got a reply from admissions and I just sent in my deposit.

Congratulations neethu16, a future Charger! Did you request a certain dorm, or leaving your chances to fate?

The latter I guess Which is the best dorm and how do I actually request one?

I assume you are male, neethu16. There are three male dorms:

Simpson, which has suite-style rooms, is on the west side of campus (a bathroom is shared between two double rooms).

Galloway, which is the only dorm on the central part of the campus, closest to dining. Community bathrooms. Has occasionally functioned as a fraternity, though it is not. Oldest of the men’s dorms. No air conditioning, but new windows. Greatest variety of room sizes.

Niedfeldt, newest of the mens dorms with suite-style bathrooms. Furthest from classrooms and dining, closest to gym, pool, athletic fields.

My son has lived in Galloway and LOVES it. But, sometimes it is best just to take your chances.

You’ll get lots of paper work soon and can express your preferences then.

Also, if you are a female, my apologies for the incorrect assumption. Female freshmen dorms include MacIntyre and Olds. Mac has suite-style rooms with a bathroom between two rooms, while Olds has community baths, but great central courtyards. Olds is much closer to the main part of the campus while Mac is on the fringe.

D just sent the deposit overnight mail.

Go Chargers!

Apologies accepted; I am female Thanks for your suggestions fencersmother. They both sound great and so I guess I’l be leaving it to fate.

kentuckymom,

Congratulations to your daughter!!

neethu,

Congratulations on your decision! My son took his chances and ended up in Galloway. It’s been fabulous for him, so taking chances works out.

Hopefully But there aren’t many options to choose between right? Its either Mcintyre or Olds!

Neethu, those are the normal “freshman” dorms for females but I believe there a sprinkling of freshmen in other female dorms. There are no “bad” dorms at HC so no matter where you are assigned, no matter where you request, you’ll have a decent dorm.

My D has requested OLDS because she likes its central location, the private courtyard.

Welcome Kentuckymom! Maybe your D and neethu would like to get in touch with my D? PM me if you are interested.
