I got in ucsd with a bioengineering major in Revelle college.

I'm still vacilliating between ucsd and other universities: cmu, emory, nyu.

I knew b/e major in ucsd is very prestigious. But other factors...

Anyway, I wanna know if there are any honor programs that I can apply to

in UCSD. You know, one to one matching with Prof. or mentors, etc..

Please Answer me~~

i think you're talking about each college's specific honors program. look it up on your college's web site. then there are honors fraternities like phi beta kappa and another one i can't remember (golden key?), but those are invitation-only based on your GPA.

if it's just some hand-holding you need, i wouldn't bother with an honors program since they often come with "enrichment" seminars and other things i don't enjoy doing. just make friends with an upperclassman or approach the friendliest professor you have -- they're more than happy to dispense advice (they do love talking, after all). by the time i graduated i had three or four professors whose offices i could pop into unannounced and talk with for over an hour. that was really helpful in planning out my postgrad plans.

uhhh duh!
lol
there are tons but you have to do the research for it

lol..i was in your same situation last year

im revelle bioengineering and completely happy with my decision

for revelle honors program if you keep a 3.7 gpa in college youre in it if they havent invited you already, and its on their website at revelle.ucsd.edu

also, if its prof's that youre wanting to get better relations with, there are freshman seminars, these are especially amazing for BE and BioInf..ive taken bioengineering frosh seminars each quarter, and a BioInf one this quarter, and theyre one unit pass no pass classes with under 20 students where you can really get to know professors if you ask questions and stuff..so you should def take as many as you can..

and if youre soph standing as a frosh, like i was, on the frosh seminars page they tell you how to contact the admissions office before registration so they will allow you to register those classes, because your soph standing will confuse the registration website

there are also jacobs school honors..i dont know the specifics for those however

in bioengineering if you keep a 3.5 (i believe) you get special grad honors...you have to be in the ABET accreditted bioE or Biotech...BioInf and premed arent ABET

and regents scholars, those you can apply for each year

my knowledge on the specifics of each of these isnt the word however..theyre just honors ive been told of, researched at one time or another, and vaguely remember hearing about, so do some research
