I am currently at a top 20 public university and it is too large for me. I am from Pennsylvania, so I also want to be closer to there. I would be very unhappy if I stayed here for four years. I want to transfer in the fall of 2014.

My major is biology. (I want to be a physical therapist)
GPA- 3.4 (Probably higher by the end of the year)
Involved in young life, club field hockey, meditation club

High school GPA- 3.75
SAT- 1890
ACT- 27
Many extracurriculars

Since I am out of state, how will that affect my chances of being accepted into a SUNY school like Geneseo?
Also, what other schools around the PA/NJ/NY/CT area would be good to look into?
Thank y'all so much

Please provide the reasons you have for leaving your school. Why are you unhappy? What are you looking for in a smaller school? What school personality suits you well?

CC members can’t determine true fit based on stats alone – there are plenty of schools that would be a statistical match.

Dickinson takes a relatively generous number of transfers (roughly 40 a year). Check out Franklin and Marshall, Washington and Jefferson, Ursinus, and Muhlenberg (assuming that you would like to be close to family in Pennsylvania). Gettysburg is more similar to Clemson in the sporty/frat atmosphere than the others listed. If you need merit money check out Colleges that Change lives as many offer generous merit money and have the atmosphere that you are seeking.
