Does anyone have any information on Lafayette College???? College life, programs, anything???????

It's a terrific school with a lovely campus, great kids and a spectacular new library. The surrounding town of Easton is a bit depressing, but the students rarely drift into it. Campus is located on top of a hill overlooking Delaware River. It's known for its economics and engineering programs and a "work hard, play hard" ethic. It's almost a little on the preppy side but that's okay. The kids who go there love it.

It's less than a mile from some of the best hotdogs on the planet.

Good description by collegeparent. A very good engineering program in a small college environment.

Our daughter loves Lafayette, but her SAT CR/math of 1200 is not really such that she is in the running there. Too bad...she is a top 5% student with a terrific GPA and a female who wants to be an engineer.

Thank you all. I love lafayette when I visited this past spring. I believe it is a perfect match for me. I just wanted to hear from others about their thoughts on the school. Lafayette is one of the colleges I will be applying to this year.

Thumper- I wouldn't rule it out. My niece visited Lafayette a few months ago, and while her SATs are higher than your D's, the admissions office indicated a real love for girls applying for engineering. With a strong application, your D would have a good shot.

thumper:

A girl applying to engineering becomes a hook at many schools, since they try to balance the chromosomes. Give it a shot.
