can someone tell me if there are any instances where someone who did not get into UCD or UCSD - has been admitted to UCLA or UCB? I will x-post in UCB forum also. Thanks in advance.

My friend in high school (last year) got accepted by Davis, rejected at SD and LA, then accepted by Berkeley. So yes, it definitely happens.

^ Pretty normal considering that Berkeley’s the most holistic UC.

if you are from NorCal, it is possible you are accepted by UCB, but rejected by LA.

Yes, two seniors last year at our high school were rejected by UC Davis and accepted at Berkeley. The counselors said that it was the first time that particular combination had happened.

i got rejected at San Diego State but got into Berkeley and UCLA

I transfered into UCLA in the Fall of 2013, I was accepted into UC Berk and UC Santa Cruz, but was rejected by UC San Diego and Santa Barbara.
