have there been any instances in the previous year?

can someone tell me if there are any instances where someone who did not get into UCD or UCSD - has been admitted to UCLA or UCB? I will x-post in UCLA forum also. Thanks in advance.

Admissions are unpredictable. My roommate (new transfer) got into Berkeley and a couple other schools, but was rejected at UCI. So, there’s still a chance. Your stats are a better indicator than other acceptances, though.

Yes, that happened to someone I know … applied to UCSD in bio (rejected) and UCB L&S (accepted).

Yes, this happens every year to a bunch of people. My senior year of high school it happened to a handful of students.

But probably competitive majors in those schools, and non-competitive majors in UCLA/UCB, But randomness can always kick in. But it does not bode well.

In 2012, I was not accepted to UCSB, UCD, or UCSD, but was accepted to UCLA, UC Berkeley( which i now attend) and all other UC schools

Two years ago, my co-workers daughter was rejected by UCSD & UCLA, waitlisted at UCI and accepted to UC Berkeley (and UC Davis and UC Riverside).
