We are wondering when these are coming out, and whether to expect by email or snail mail.

Has anyone received it yet ... or anyone from last year that can shed some light on how much after the regular acceptance that ISP sends out their news?

Yay! S is in at ISP. The more my H, the math prof, looks at it, the better this program seems. H is going to scope it out in more detail with a colleague he knows at NU whos associated with the program. But it looks like a great fit for S. He wants interdisciplinary science but wasn’t interested in attending a tech school. Well, he thinks ISP looks like MIT in the classroom for the science, coupled with a more well rounded academic experience and social live with the rest of NU. A diamond in the rough program here that we initially just stumbled across?

yeah I got in too.
they send decision via EMAILs. This is the only consolation I’ve had after Rejected by Cornell and WL by Columbia…:(

Now I begin to hesitate between Caltech and ISP at NU. I wonder how many students are there in ISP? and student/faculty ratio? the ISP webpages seem don’t have much information…

dawncoming, I suggest we all take advantage of the links on ISP and shower them with questions. We are lucky that my H, a math prof at USC, has a colleague he’s worked with associated with ISP. He’s already sent him an email with some questions. If we find anything interesting from him, I’ll post back here.

I wish I could remember where I read this so I could provide the link, but I think they want roughly 30 admitted students each class. Take a good luck at the course offerings, the schedule and how it’s set up. My H was impressed how they link the math education with the science education, which is exactly what ISP says they want to do.

I can already tell you that another colleague of my H’s who became the president of the American Mathematical Society this year, and who had worked at NU for several years (at last, they wanted better weather so came to USC) said the ISP is outstanding and likely worth the price. It’s important to note he said this, knowing my S could be attending USC tuition free, since he was admitted here as well.
