I tried posting this in individual school forums but no one replied so I decided to post in the international forum. So if you any of you are applying/applied to the following institutions, please acknowledge yourself.

University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign
Purdue University
Georgia Institute of Technology
Carnegie Mellon
University of Texas, Austin

I have applied to those universities for fall 2005 under chemical engineering, if any of you guys have applied, let's discuss our chances, life in those universities and anything else you feel like contributing.

what did you apply for? What were your stats?

BTW - here are my brief stats
3.5 GPA uw with 5 APs
SAT I - 1370
good ECs, science related activities such as robotics club and decent amount of community service.

Also if you get accepted, do you think you will be attending?

Applied for engineering physics/electrical engineering

Will not be attending if get accepted. UIUC and GT were backups, but currently have Chicago and Georgetown confirmed, so the if CMU comes through, I might consider but the likelihood of going to any of these colleges is small.
My interest in in financial engineering and uiuc or gt dont have have faculties tht specialize in that field...
where else are you applyin

Dude, you have awesome stats, you should be applying to Harvard, Stanford and such.

As for me, I applied to all the above universities and Mcgill in Montreal and University of Toronto. Since all those universities do not provide aid to internationals, it will be a burden, but I guess we'll manage somehow....all those universities are known for engineering so hopefully when I'll graduate I'll get some good job offers....or at least I am counting on it.

BTW - I have already been accepted by Purdue and UIUC. UIUC's campus looks gorgeous....I really want to go there but the tuition for international is similar to a private school...so dunno if it's worth it.
